About the home
This beautiful Shakopee, Minnesota home overlooks Lake Minnetonka’s exclusive Smithtown Bay. The bay is charming to look at; however, the homeowners were unable to enjoy their view due to rain, bugs and wind. Mom’s Design Build collaborated with the architect who designed the outdoor space to ensure they met the homeowners needs, while making sure the finished product looked like it had been created with the home 20 years ago.

The need
The homeowners wanted to spend more time using their elevated deck overlooking the lake. This required rain, sun, wind, and bug protection without sacrificing their beautiful view and the natural light shining into their home. It was important for Mom’s Design Build to preserve the architecture of the home.
The solution
Phantom’s motorized screens fit seamlessly into the outdoor patio, creating a barrier from weather and insects – while integrating the indoor/outdoor living space. The screens create an enclosure that provides easy access in/out of the patio. Screens can be left partially open, fully open or closed, providing an enjoyable dining experience no matter the weather.
What makes this project special
Phantom Screens selected Mom’s Design Build as the 2018 Impact Award Winner. They’re also the winner of the 2019 HGTV Ultimate Outdoor Awards.
